Regional Postgraduate School: “Entrepreneurship in Engineering towards Sustainable Development”

This school was created by an agreement made bet ween UNESCO, the National University of Buenos Aires, the National University of La Matanza and the National University of Lomas de Zamora, with the support of the Argentine Center of Engineers. Its first course will be delivered within the framework of the World Congress, and will be held on October 13-15, 2010.

                            

Objectives

The general objective of the course is to promote and disseminate entrepreneurship education at the level of University, in line with the millennium goals proposed by the United Nations and in pursuit of the sustainable development of the region. In this sense, sustainability should be understood as the development which meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs and that of their region, as the portion of territory determined by ethnical features and particular conditions of climate, production, topography, administration, government, etc.    

Course key goals

To develop institutional and pedagogical abilities as regards entrepreneurship education at Latin American and Caribbean Universities.
To analyze and share instruments, methodologies and strategies to encourage and plan processes of creation and promotion of university-based enterprises, particularly those with an innovative profile.    
To create a network of people responsible for the entrepreneurship at universities, to multiply the effects of the course.

Target audience

The course is designed for:
Coordinators and people in charge of education activities related to entrepreneurship at universities.
Members of working teams related to the issue of entrepreneurship and the creation of enterprises within the scope of universities.
Promoters, managers and, technical groups in general, of university incubators or in close relation with universities. 

Course Structure

The Course will last 36 hours which will be divided into 6 sessions of 4 hours each. The  remaining time will be devoted to the presentation of a final paper.
