SECOND EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ETHICS AND HUMAN VALUES IN ENGINEERING – BARCELONA


The second edition of the International Conference on Ethics and Human Values in Engineering was held in Barcelona (Catalonia / Spain) on March 2-4, 2010.

This conference was promoted by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and the Victoriano Muñoz Oms Chair (VMO) from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). On behalf of the World Congress and Exhibition ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA, there were present at this Conference: Engineers Luis Vaca Arenaza, Daniel Morano and Eduardo Vendrell Vidal, President and Vice-Presidents, respectively, of the Thematic Chapter “Engineering Education for Sustainable Development”, and Engineer Sandra Fernandez, Vice-President of the Specific Chapter “Innovation in Primary Production and Agro-Alimentary Industries – IPPAI”.

The aims of the conference were focused on the exchange of knowledge and points of view between professionals related to the world of engineering, within a framework of discussion on human values, ethics in engineering and in technological and scientific research, as well as on the social impacts of its practice, spreading in society the actions developed from science, technology and engineering with the human sustainability approach, in order to reach a responsible use of resources.

The meeting of WFEO Executive Committee took place before this Conference. On this occasion, there were comments as regards the advance in the activities related to ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA.
