In December 2008, after the World Engineers' Convention 2008, we had in Buenos Aires the visit of some of the members of the International Advisory Council of our World Congress ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA: WFEO President-Elect, María Jesús Pietro Laffargue; the  Director of International Alliances of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Engineer Mike Sanio, from Canada; Dr. Ishii Fumio, engineer and specialist in the prevention of natural disasters, from Japan, who was accompanied by his wife; and current WFEO President, Engineer Barry Grear and his wife.

Accompanied by members of the Central Executive Committee of ENGINEERING 2010-ARGENTINA, they met with government authorities of our country, such as the Vice Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Dr. Alejandro Ceccatto, the Vice-Secretary of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cult, the Ambassador Victorio Tacchetti and Mr. Juan Carlos Tedesco, State Minister of Education. Besides, they also had a meeting with the Minister of Urban Development, Architect Daniel Chain.

In several interviews, IAC members made public their support to our Congress ENGINEERING 2010-ARGENTINA; they also expressed the engineering associations’ intention to work jointly on the issues which are of concern for governments. On their part, public officials said they are interested in the opportunities offered by the Congress to have engineers and the government work together for the country’s growth.
