Argentine engineers develop drought and frost-tolerant plants

The contribution of engineering specialties to food production will be one of the topics to be addressed in the Chapter on “Innovation in Primary Production and Agro-alimentary Industries” of the World Congress ENGINEERING 2010
During its sessions, participants will learn about the advances and relevant innovations for the agro-alimentary sector. One of the latest developments that surprised the sector and society in general is a design carried out by Argentine engineers. They have developed transgenic plants resistant to frost, droughts and excessive soil salinity. 
This project is carried out by the National University of the Litoral and Conicet.
