ENGINEERING DAY IN ARGENTINA – RECOGNITION ALL OVER THE COUNTRY

The Engineering Day in Argentina is celebrated on June 6 in remembrance of the day the first Argentine engineer, Luis Huergo, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 1870, and the Engineer’s Day, on the 16th, remembering June 16, 1985, date in which engineering education began in Argentina.    
On Monday, June 7, there were celebrations all over the country in several institutions related to engineering, with the traditional ceremonies and events which, as activities of the professionals of this sector generally associated to development and progress, always arouse the interest of society.  

In Buenos Aires, the celebration events in the year of Bicentennial Anniversary of our country and within the organization of the World Congress and Exhibition ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA, started at 8.30 in the morning with the raising of our flag in Las Heras and Pueyrredon Avenues; then, at 11 there was a mass in memory of our dead colleagues and they finished at 9 with the traditional dinner of camaraderie in the CAI building, located at Cerrito 1250, with the presence of engineers, businessmen and authorities that support the institution and the Congress.
