Last April 26-28, the Central Executive Committee of ENGINEERING 2010-ARGENTINA received the visit of the main authorities of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), in the offices of the Argentine Center of Engineers.

The delegation was led by WFEO President, Engineer María Jesús Prieto Laffargue (Spain), accompanied by Engineer Adel Al Kharafi (Kuwait), WFEO President-Elect, Engineer Tahani Youssef (France), WFEO Executive Director, and Engineer Marwan Abdelahamid (Middle East), WFEO Vice-president. During this visit, they, together with the members of the Central Executive Committee of ENGINEERING 2010-ARGENTINA, met government authorities of our country, including the General Secretary of the Presidency, Dr. Oscar Parrilli, the Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Dr. José Lino Barañao, the Minister of Urban Development of the City of Buenos Aires, Architect Daniel Chain, with a visit to the reconstruction works of Colon Theatre before its reopening scheduled for May 25, and the Secretary of University Policies, Dr. Alberto Dibbern.   

WFEO members made public their support to the World Congress and Exhibition ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA and stated the intention of engineering organizations to work together on issues of common interest for governments and asked the Argentine Government to back up this important event.

On their part, government officials said they were interested in the opportunities offered by the Congress so that engineers and the government work together for the growth of countries.

In these working meetings scheduled during their stay in Argentina, they were informed of the advances related to the Congress organization, achieved by the Central Executive Committee; they said they were satisfied with them and that this will be an important event of the World Engineering.
