Within the structure of WFEO Committee on Engineering and Environment, a new task force on “Engineering and Agriculture” was created; its coordination is in charge of Dr.-Ing. Agr. Sandra Fernández, Former President of the Professional Council of Agricultural Engineers (CPIA) and President of UPADI Committee on Biotechnology (Argentina).

The main objectives are to:   

1. Develop tools to promote and improve transport, storage, safety and sanitation of the agro-food chain.
2. Contribute to sustainable development in order to suggest alternatives to change the conditions under which hunger increases and persists.
3. Encourage the cooperation between engineering and the communities working on agriculture, particularly the organization Farming First.
4. Collaborate with WFEO UN initiative through CEE in UNFCCC and UN-CSD (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development).
