ENGINEERING DAY IN ARGENTINA – RECOGNITION ALL OVER THE COUNTRY

he Engineering Day in Argentina is celebrated on June 6 in remembrance of the day the first Argentine engineer, Luis Huergo, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 1870, and the Engineer’s Day, on the 16th, remembering June 16, 1985, date in which engineering education began in Argentina.

The IV Regional Engineering Conference of NEA was held at the Hotel Gran Guaraní, located at Mendoza St. 970 of the Province of Corrientes, last June 10-11. During this National Preparatory Congress of ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA, the topic which was addressed was “Engineering Education for Engineers and Women Engineers”.

FUTURE NATIONAL PREPARATORY CONGRESS – MAR DEL PLATA

NATIONAL PREPARATORY CONGRESS: “VI ARGENTINE CONGRESS ON CHEMICAL ENGINEERING” ORGANIZED BY THE ARGENTINE ASSOCIATION OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERS (AAIQ), SEPTEMBER 26-29, MAR DEL PLATA

The VI Argentine Congress on Chemical Engineering (acronym in Spanish “AAIQ2010”) will be held in “13 de Julio” Hotel of the city of Mar del Plata next September 26-29.

During this National Preparatory Congress of ENGINEERING 2010-ARGENTINA, the key theme to be addressed is the contribution of chemical engineering to the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

AGREEMENT WITH TLAXCALA

The XV Anniversary of the Council of Accreditation of Engineering Education (CACEI) was celebrated in the city of Atlihuetzia (Tlaxcala) in Mexico. On this occasion, the II Latin American Meeting on Accreditation and the IV CACEI Convention were held between March 15 and 20. The Argentine representatives who attended this event were Daniel Morano (SPU-ME), Luis María Fernández (CONEAU) and Luis Vaca Arenaza (CAI). They spoke about engineering accreditation systems and about the World Congress and Exhibition ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA.

The event that will join engineers from all over the World in Argentina is near and, therefore, it is necessary to reaffirm the objectives proposed by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations when it decided to support it.

I am speaking of the need of developing engineering policies which are aimed at a true Sustainable Development and at the service of humanity as a whole.
