PRESIDENT’S EDITORIAL
This implies the fulfillment of current human needs without neglecting the capacity of future generations to go on through this path.
We may grow but this does not necessarily mean we develop.
Growth is spontaneous and it ends up by itself.
Development gives us tools to move on, by means of appropriate planning, towards the destiny societies seek.
We should move from growth to development.
To achieve this, we must join our wills, minimize our differences and optimize our coincidences.
There is no sustainable development without long-term policies and, in turn, these policies are impossible to state without a minimum social consensus.
ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA has already started to promote this path. And it is doing well.
But, paraphrasing Socrates, “beginning well is something but yet not enough”.
Let us follow on this path.
Till next publication.
