Formosa “Regional Engineering Conference, August 14-15”

The meeting was attended by 200 people, provincial and municipal authorities, academic personalities  (National University of the Northeast Region) and representatives of the Engineering Centers of the Argentine Provinces of Chaco, Corrientes and Misiones and of Paraguay.

The opening ceremony took place in Building G of Promenade Vuelta Formosa. Engineer Marcelo Ugelli, president of the organizing association, delivered his speech highlighting that many engineering activities are carried out in the Northeast Region of the country. Also present there were the Mayor of Formosa, Engineer Fernando De Vido, and presidents of Professional Associations of the aforementioned region.
 
Framed within the local peculiarities and in a friendly atmosphere,  the “Regional Engineering Conference” was the proper opportunity to explain the importance of the World Congress and Exhibition: ENGINEERING 2010- ARGENTINA. Its presentation was in charge of Engineer Luis Vaca Arenaza, president of the Organizing Committee of Chapter “Engineering Education for Sustainable Development”, EESD of the World Congress. In his lecture, he also discussed the topic: “The Engineer and the Sustainable Development”.

In addition, several papers were presented in the Congress which dealt with topics related to regional strategic planning.  Members of professional associations and institutions of Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil, together with representatives from the provinces of Chaco, Corrientes and Misiones discussed sustainable development from the regional perspective.

It is worth mentioning that this Congress was widely spread by the regional media, which actively contributed to the promotion of ENGINEERING 2010-ARGENTINA.
