Eng. Marie Helene Therre
Marie-Hélène THERRE, Civil Engineer, is a management and HR consultant, specialist in diversity in the organizations. Her main subject of interest focuses on the factors promoting diversity within groups and teams. Her main clients are international companies and networks of women in firms.
She has a significant professional experience as customer services operations manager in Europe South for an international supercomputer manufacturer, managing large teams of engineers and directing strategic projects.
She is president of the French Association of Women Engineers (www.femmes-ingenieurs.org) and she is the founder chairwoman of WFEO standing committee “Women in Engineering” (www.wfeo.net).
She is one of the keynote speakers who has already confirmed her participation in the Forum “Women in Engineering and Business”.
Eng. André Marie Bourlon
André-Marie Bourlon is an urban engineer (1954), graduated from "École Polytechnique" and "Ponts-et- Chaussées". He has an experience of more than twenty years in the management and relocation policies within the organization of APUR (Paris Urban Planning Agency). From his position in APUR, he has lead the projects of Paris’ candidacy for the 2008 and 2010 Olympic Games and has participated in the preparation of the relocation policy of the city of Paris. He has carried out and completed several large urban projects such as Bercy, Paris Rive Gauche and Paris Nord-Est. He has also worked on large restoration projects of public spaces and directed projects for the traffic of bicycles and vehicles in Paris.
At the international level, he has managed many projects. He has also collaborated recently in the review of the master plans of Buenos Aires and Teheran, the improvement of Rio de Janeiro downtown and the tramway project in the city of Mexico. For the government of Morocco, he has carried out plans for the restoration of Rabat, Sale and Temara as well as the planning scheme and the urban management planning of Marrakech.
He is one of the keynote speakers who has already confirmed his participation in the Chapter “Professional Practice of Engineering”.
Eng. George Bugliarello
An engineer, educator, writer and thinker with a broad perspective and a deep concern about the world prospect, George Bugliarello has lectured and written on how humanity balances the biological, social and mechanized components of our modern existence and how a technological society achieves material prosperity while protecting human rights, the environment and the quality of our personal interaction. Bugliarello's background ranges from biomedical engineering to fluid mechanics, to computer languages and socio-technology. He is University Professor and president emeritus of Polytechnic University in New York. He holds a doctorate in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has received several honorary degrees. His service includes participation as the U.S. member of the Science for Stability Steering Group of the Scientific Affairs Division of NATO and chairmanship of the Board on Infrastructure and the Constructed Environment of the National Research Council. He has been a consultant for UNESCO and OECD and a specialist for the State Department in Venezuela and Central Africa. A member of the National Academy of Engineering and founding fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, Bugliarello served as president of Sigma Xi in 1992-93.
He is one of the keynote speakers who has already confirmed his participation in the Chapter “Megacities and their Infrastructure”.
